To convert steps to meters, multiply the number of steps by the estimated meters per step.

For example: 10,000 steps x 0.762 meters per step = 7,620 meters.

Improving Accuracy

The default answer is useful for quick estimates, but your own stride may be shorter or longer. A calibrated stride is usually better: walk a known distance, count your steps, and divide the distance by the number of steps. Cautions

A step is not an SI or imperial unit. Walking speed, running, hills, fatigue, shoes, and the device counting your steps can all change the real distance. For maps, races, surveying, medical, engineering, or legal uses, measure the distance directly instead of relying only on a step estimate.
